Financial & Sustainability Reporting

Expertise is expected. The experience should be exceptional.

Caviar Consulting turns complex reporting and data requirements into practical solutions. We design and improve reporting processes, implement and optimize reporting technology, and build the data governance and controls needed to produce accurate, auditable, decision-ready information.

The result is consulting that is rigorous without being rigid, sophisticated without being complicated, and tailored to the way your team actually works.

Start a conversation

CPA-led delivery, deep Workiva specialization, and AI applied where it earns its place. Platform-agnostic where a platform is not the answer.

Approach

Built for the teams that own the numbers.

The approach combines deep experience in financial and sustainability reporting with enterprise reporting technology and a hands-on, highly tailored way of working. Whether the need is a reporting transformation, regulatory readiness, data governance, or a complex custom solution, the work starts by understanding the business and designing around it, rather than fitting the business to a methodology.

Modernization itself starts upstream of the reporting system. Define the data and where it comes from, assign ownership, design a process that repeats, and put controls around the parts that matter. Technology comes after that, and then it works.

How the work feels matters as much as the deliverable. Engagements are taken selectively so each one gets real attention, questions get answered the same day, and nothing has to be chased twice. The practice is built so that level of attention is available on engagements that would not normally receive it.

The discipline is the same whether the deliverable is a 10-K or a first-year sustainability statement, which is why both sit in the same practice. Engagements run from a short diagnostic through full implementation and post-go-live support, sized to the deadline in front of you rather than a fixed methodology.

Where a client runs Workiva, or is choosing a platform, Caviar Consulting brings seven years of hands-on delivery on it. Where they do not, the work is the same and the tools stay theirs. Clients include public and private companies across manufacturing, financial services, and technology.

What we do

Where engagements begin.

Regulatory readiness

Translate a new or expanding requirement into what it asks of your data, then build the plan, the ownership model, and the controls to meet it on time.

Carbon accounting

Emissions and sustainability data held to the same standard as financial data: defined sources, documented methodology, review, and an audit trail that stands up to assurance.

Reporting and consolidation

Multi-entity, management, and investor reporting that reconciles cleanly, runs on a defined calendar, and produces the same answer every period.

Technical accounting and controls

CPA-led support on accounting positions, new standard adoption, policy and procedure documentation, and the controls that sit around the reporting process.

Fractional reporting leadership

Senior coverage for teams between hires or carrying a gap: owning the close, the filing calendar, and the auditor relationship until the permanent hire lands.

Reporting technology and AI

Implementation and optimization of reporting platforms, with deep Workiva specialization, plus AI applied to the mechanical parts of reporting: data transformation, reconciliation, documentation, and consistency checks, inside a controlled process.

Where we go deep

Three service lines, run the same way.

Accounting & financial reporting

CPA-led work for public filers and private groups reporting to auditors, lenders, boards, and investors.

  • SEC reporting: 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy, and registration statements
  • XBRL and Inline XBRL tagging, review, and validation
  • Multi-entity consolidation and intercompany reporting
  • Management, board, and investor reporting packages
  • Fund and alternative investment reporting
  • Close process design, review workflow, and controls over reporting
  • Technical accounting research, positions, and memo documentation
  • New accounting standard adoption and implementation
  • Accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation
  • Internal controls over financial reporting: design, documentation, and remediation
  • Audit readiness and support, including auditor request management
  • Fractional controller and reporting leadership for teams between hires

Sustainability reporting

For companies whose disclosures are now assured, enforced, and read as closely as the financials.

Technology and AI

For teams choosing a platform, getting more from the one they have, or bringing AI into reporting without losing control of it.

  • Workiva implementation across SEC reporting, XBRL, sustainability, and custom solutions
  • Optimization of existing environments: cleaner linking, fewer manual steps
  • Platform selection and evaluation support
  • AI-assisted data transformation, mapping, and reconciliation
  • AI-supported drafting, review, and consistency checks across disclosures
  • Governance and controls over AI use in the reporting process
  • Enablement and training so the in-house team owns it

Value

The experience should be exceptional.

Expertise is table stakes. What separates one engagement from another is how it is run, and that comes down to who is actually on it, how quickly you get answers, and whether the work arrives finished.

Senior-led from the first conversation to the last review.

Caviar Consulting is senior-led by design. The person who scopes the engagement is the person who delivers it, owns the detail through every review, and is who you call when something changes.

In practice that means no re-explaining context to a new face, no rotation mid-engagement, no learning curve billed against your deadline, and responses measured in hours rather than days. Deliverables are built to be used, not to be presented.

Flattening the pyramid.

Reporting work used to require sheer volume. Data preparation, tie-outs, formatting, tagging, and documentation consumed enormous amounts of time, and the conventional staffing model was shaped around absorbing it: many hands producing the mechanical output, a few applying judgment on top.

That constraint is disappearing. Applied carefully, AI collapses most of the mechanical middle of reporting work: mapping and transforming data, reconciling sources, drafting and marking up documentation, and checking consistency across a disclosure. What remains is the part that always mattered, which is judgment about what the numbers mean and whether they hold up.

For a company that means fewer people in the loop, shorter cycles, senior attention on every decision instead of only the escalated ones, and a cost that reflects the work rather than the staffing model behind it. It also means the AI is used inside a controlled process, with review and evidence, by someone accountable for the output.

Background

Practitioner first, consultant second.

Caviar Consulting is led by Jared Abramowitz, a CPA who started in external audit, joined Workiva to deliver SEC reporting and XBRL tagging for public filers, and then spent years at Deloitte designing and delivering reporting solutions for global organizations, with a concentration in sustainability and carbon accounting. He founded Caviar Consulting to deliver that work directly.

  • Seven years delivering Workiva across SEC reporting, XBRL tagging, multi-entity reporting, and sustainability reporting
  • Built custom Workiva solutions for carbon accounting, EPR, and EU Taxonomy
  • Prepared and reviewed public company filings, not only advised on them
  • Led implementations for multi-entity groups, funds, and complex reporting structures
  • Works directly with controllers, reporting leads, and sustainability owners, with no layers in between
  • Based in Denver, Colorado, with engagements run remotely and travel when it matters
